Central girls, Gore elementary teams win team titles at Spiro Invitational; several locals medal

SPIRO — The Central Lady Tigers won the high school girls team title and the Gore squads swept the elementary school division team championships at the Spiro Invitational, which took place Sept. 30.

In the high school girls’ division, the Lady Tigers won the meet with 40 points, finishing ahead of runner-up Heavener (77 points) and third-place Roland (86).

For the Lady Tigers, Sara Williams was runner- up (13:08.72), Sadie Huff was fifth (14:25.8), Cambree Bair was sixth (14:35.42), Paris Campbell was 13th (15:24.22), Scarlett Harrison was 14th (15:40.75) and Xhayla Mosby was 15th (15:58.83).

In the high school boys’ division, Gore’s Clayton White was 42nd (26:40.75).

In the junior high boys’ division, the Gore Pirates were fifth (100 points), finishing behind the team champion and host Spiro Bulldogs (26), Panama (58) and Heavener (87) and Hodgen (89).

Two local runners medaled by placing in the top 15. Central’s Caden Bair was ninth (13:34.92) and Gore’s Bryson Franco was 11th (13:46.86).

As for other locals, Gore’s Jayse Boyd was 16th (14:18.21), Gore’s Isaac McGrew was 25th (15:17.79), Central’s Koleman Edwards was 28th (15:45.23), Gore’s Quinn Montgomery was 31st (16:06.3), Central’s Zander Moldrup was 32nd (16:08.77) and Gore’s Cale Cox was 33rd (16:09.4).

The Central Lady Tigers were fourth in the junior high girls’ division team standings with 103 points.

Three local runners medaled as Gore’s Taylor Kinion was third (12:01.65), Central’s Scotti Wilson was 12th (12:34.37) and Central’s Sailor Bauer was 15th (13:12.76).

As for other local JH girls runners, Central’s Bryar Goodson was 19th (13:25.63), Central’s Graye Riggs was 28th (14:09.87) and Central’s Olivia Blalock was 36th (14:45.59).

The Gore Pirates won the elementary boys’ division team title with 35 points, and runner Eli Montgom-ery was the individual champion with a time of 7:28.17.

All total, the Pirates saw six runners make the top 15 and earn medals. Besides individual champion Eli Montgomery, Easton Lewis was fifth (7:48.55), Kysen Carter was 10th (8:01.28), Daxton Martin was 12th (8:04.4), Laiken Andrews was 13th (8:06.4) and Tripp Smith was 14th (8:15.21).

As for other Pirates, Elijah Fowler was 18th (8:45.42), Stetson Andrews was 19th (8:55.54), Liam Randolph was 22nd (9:26.98), Elliott Holland was 23rd (9:30.45), Stryker Randolph was 24th (9:32.75), Thorn Cearley was 28th (10:19.47), Jett Ward was 30th (10:38.13) and Bennett Judkins was 34th (11:29.2).

The Gore Lady Pirates made it a clean sweep as far as the elementary school division was concerned as they also won the elementary school girls’ division team championship with 52 points, nipping host Spiro by a point as the Lady Bulldogs had 53 points.

Just like Eli Montgomery did for the Pirates, Karsyn Springer did likewise for the Lady Pirates as she won the elementary school girls’ race with a time of 7:49.69.

Besides Springer, three other girls earned medals with top-15 finishes. Saige Farris was 10th (8:49.77), Elle Keathley was 12th (8:58.2) and Claire Holland was 13th (9:12.65).

As for other Lady Pirates, Reece Ward was 16th (9:53.9), Hazel Montgomery was 19th (10:19.71), Blakely Smith was 23rd (11:16.29), Adeline Sloan was 24th (11:17.35), River Johnson was 25th (11:22.69) and Madison Montgomery was 26th (11:46.2).
