Five members of the Gore 4-H Club competed in the Tulsa State Fair Livestock Judging Contest, an event that challenges students to evaluate classes of cattle, sheep, goats and swine, and defend their decisions through oral reasons.
Representing Gore 4-H were Ransom Richardson, Paizlee Oxtoby, Stock Trennepohl, Mylee Bruce and Gracie Bruce. Elsie Taylor served as a special assistant livestock coach.
The contest is designed to build more than livestock knowledge. By requiring participants to present reasons, students gain valuable experience in public speaking, critical thinking and confidence under pressure—skills that carry far beyond the show ring.
Opportunities like this prepare 4-H members to take on leadership roles in their schools, communities and future careers.
