She attended Akins School and vocational school in Muskogee, earning a computer technician/technology certification while working at Gore Drug and Fin and Feather.
Survivors include five children, Linda Long of Tulsa, Sharon Cole of Gore, Edward and Olivia Long of La Paz BCS, Mexico, Howard and Theanne Long of Cibolo, Texas, and Daniel and Christy Long of Van Buren, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her partner, Jim Oliver; parents; step-mother, Mildred Morrison; half-sister, Deliah Coker; and three grandchildren.
Graveside service for Ruth Ellen (Morrison) Long, 83, of Gore, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
She was born on March 21, 1942, in Pulaski County, Ark., to Curtis Judge Plez Morrison and Stella Maxine (Mills) Webster. She died on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, in Gore.
