It was a successful Senior Night for the Webbers Falls Warriors on Friday night at Smokey Cox Stadium as they accomplished a 2-for-1 with not only a District BII-4 victory, beating the Arkoma Mustangs 52-27, but clinching a playoff berth.
The Warriors (5-4, 2-2 in district play), who snapped a three-game losing streak not counting the Oct. 16 districtforfeited win over Wesleyan Christian which dropped its football program earlier this season, clinched a playoff berth.
Now, the Warriors will try to get as high as they possibly can, finishing in the No. 3 spot with a win over the Gans Grizzlies at 7 p.m. this Friday at Grizzly Field.
“(No. 3 spot) is definitely better than a No. 4,” Webbers Falls coach Trent Holt said. “We definitely want to try to be third. We need to win this Friday.”
The Warriors scored seven touchdowns on the night, with five of them complements of quarterback Brutus Robinson, who rushed for four TDs on runs of 73, 1, 4 and 25 yards as well as threw a 53-yard touchdown pass to Trysten Wilbourn.
Austin Barger had the other two TDs on runs of 49 and 3 yards.
“We were a little sluggish to start off,” Holt said. “We threw it well. Brutus ran the ball well, then our game picked up a little bit. We played pretty decent.”
