Iva Ray (Dyer) Yancey, 90, of Vian, Okla., formerly of Muldrow, Okla., passed away on Nov. 16, 2025. A graveside service was held in her honor at Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Iva was born on Oct. 4, 1935, in the Paw Paw Community, in Sequoyah County, Okla., to Myrtle (Murphy) Dyer and Ivey Dyer. On May 9, 1951, she married Charles Edward Yancey in Fort Smith, Ark. He preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 2016. Iva had a passion for shopping and crocheting, but her greatest joy came from caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Trish Rose and Jim of Vian, Okla.; two sisters, Edna Ruth Vann of Muldrow, and Wanda Eads of Redland, Okla.; four grandchildren, Steven Rose, Kristie Mowery, Tanya Johnson, and Zachery Risley; three great-grandchildren, Jodi Webb, Breighton Mowery, and Logan Mowery; one great-great-grandchild, Archer Webb; along with several other relatives and friends.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Betty Risley; her grandson, T.C. Biggerstaff; her great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Rose; and three brothers, Eugene Dyer, Bill Dyer, and R.G. Dyer.
Active pallbearers were Barry James and Ronnie Allen.
Friends and family were invited to pay their respects during the viewing at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Okla., from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, where the family greeted visitors from 6 to 8 p.m.
