Webbers Falls Lady Warriors start new basketball season with new coach
By David Seeley Sports Editor,

The Webbers Falls Lady Warriors will begin the 2025-26 basketball season with a new coach as former Gore Lady Pirates coach Staci Simeroth jumped across the Arkansas River to replace former coach Garren Weatherton.

The Lady Warriors were 13-11 last season and got to the Class A Regional Tournament consolation quarterfinals. The good news for Simeroth is she is coming into the program with a pretty good nucleus of players from last season’s squad.

There are four seniors on this year’s team — Hailey Shanks, Bailey Ward, Audri Spears and Rhilee Jones, who is a newcomer to the basketball team after playing with the Lady Warriors on the softball diamond.

Abbie Patterson is the lone junior on this year’s squad, while Madison Smith, Hannah Kay Mason, Katie Frazier, Payton Shanks, River Qualls and Paizley Turley are sophomores. Frazier ran cross country for the Lady Warriors this past season.

Allie Patterson, Kimberlee Rolston and Ashlynn Black are freshmen on this year’s roster.

The Lady Warriors will get the new season underway at 6 p.m. Dec. 2 at Arkoma.

Here are the members of the 2025-26 Webbers Falls Lady Warriors basketball team. Front row, from left — Hailey Shanks, Bailey Ward, Audri Spears and Rhilee Jones. Middle row — Paizley Turley, Katie Frazier, Hannah Kay Mason, Abbie Patterson and Allie Patterson. Back row — Kimberlee Rolston, Ashlynn Black, Peyton Shanks, Madison Smith and River Qualls. Not pictured — Manager Gracie Hull and coaches Staci Simeroth and Candice Griffith.
