The Gore Pirates wrestling team finished sixth as a team at the Gary McKee Bulldog Classic, which took place Friday and Saturday in Okmulgee.
The Pirates finished with 42 points, thanks to four wrestlers placing in the two-day event.
Jaydan Gates won the championship at 165 pounds, Devon Mannon was runner-up at 157 pounds, Bladin Mc-Cartney was third at 175 and Kaydin McCartney was fifth at 215 pounds.
The Pirates opened their dual portion of their wrestling season with a dominant performance over Oklahoma School for the Blind on Dec. 1 at Gore Event Center.
Both the high school and junior high squads won every match contested.
In the high school dual, the Pirates (10) saw five of their wrestlers — McKinnon McElhaney (132 pounds), Jaxton Mc-Gowin (144), Bladin McCartney (175), Alex Hoog (190) and Gage Dame (heavyweight) — all win by pinfall.
Westin Hayes won his 138-pound match 8-5, while Cole Brooksher did likewise with an 11-2 major decision in his 150-pound match.
In the junior high dual, Augustus Smith (80 pounds), Wyatt Chitty (82), Kaben Hiler (106) and Beau Moore (126) all won by pinfall.
Aiden Robertson won his 98-pound match by a technical fall, while Stryker Sandy got an 11-7 decision to win his 155-pound match.
After Tuesday night’s junior high triangular with Muldrow and Vian, the Pirates will be idle until entertaining Stilwell for a junior high/high school dual at 6 p.m. Dec. 18 at Gore Event Center.
