For Sarah Christie, the heart of her story has always centered on two things: family and the children she serves. At 31, the wife, mother of three and early childhood educator has woven those passions into a life that is both full and fulfilling.
Christie works with Adventure Head Start, where she puts her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education to use each day. It’s more than a job to her, it’s a calling.
“Helping young children learn and grow has always been a passion of mine,” she said, a sentiment that radiates in the way she talks about her work. At Head Start, she’s part of helping young learners take some of their very first steps into the world of education, something she describes as an honor and a joy.
At home, Christie’s world is delightfully busy. She and her husband are raising three daughters: 10-year-old Madysn, 8-year-old Mia, and 7-year-old Maycee, whose personalities fill the household with laughter, noise and more than a little adventure.
“Fun, chaos and joy,” Christie said, summing up motherhood in three perfect words.
Despite the demands of work and parenting, Christie finds time for hobbies that bring her peace and keep her grounded. She’s known among friends and family for her handmade chunky blankets, a craft that offers a soothing break from the bustle of daily life. When she’s not crafting, she’s often outdoors, either fishing, hunting or simply soaking up the quiet moments that rural life offers.
For Christie, Sequoyah County isn’t just home; it’s a blessing. Living close to her family and longtime friends is something she never takes for granted.
“It keeps me close to the people I love most,” she said. “I wouldn’t trade that for anything.”
In many ways, Christie embodies the spirit of Sequoyah County — hardworking, family- centered, community- minded. Whether she’s teaching toddlers, threading yarn through her fingers or casting a line into the water, she does so with a steady warmth that leaves an imprint on everyone around her.
Her life is certainly busy, but it’s also rich. And, as she would tell you, exactly the way she likes it.
