The Webbers Falls Board of Trustees approved routine business, denied a request to use a city alley as a private driveway, and took steps toward bidding a new museum remodel during its regular meeting on Dec. 9.
During communications, Mayor Johnny Pollard praised the appearance of the downtown area and thanked city employees for their Christmas decorations, while Vice Mayor Jewell Hall reported the cemetery was in good condition. Pollard also asked that a future agenda include discussion of hiring a parttime, fill-in office employee to allow cross-training.
Police Chief Alden reported 1,119 total police interactions in November, and Fire Chief Armstrong said the department had been extremely busy, responding to more than 25 calls, some lasting all night or all day.
He also recognized firefighter Brian Casinger with a plaque honoring him for 28 years of service.
City Maintenance reported crews had completed installation of Christmas decorations, continue tree cutting and cleanup, and are awaiting parts to repair a broken backhoe.
