Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling members do well at Brushy Christmas Brawl, Rumble on the River

Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling had a pair of successful weekend tournaments over Christmas Break at both the Brushy Christmas Brawl on Dec. 27 as well as in their own tournament, last Saturday’s Rumble on the River — which took place at Gore Event Center.

In Brushy’s tournament, the girls finished seventh with 30 points and boys ended up with 96 points for a ninthplace finish in the team standings.

At the Brushy Christmas Brawl, Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling crowned two champions in Hastin Chitty (age 6-and-younger division, 43 pounds) and Jax York (age 6-and-younger, 37), while Isabella Mannon was a multiple placer as she was runner-up at 6874 pounds in the girls age 10-and-younger division and was third at 70-73 pounds in the open age 10-and-younger division.

Wyatt Chitty (open age 15-and-younger, 92 pounds), Garrett Sandy (open age 12-and-younger, 110) and Dawson York (age 6-and-younger, 43) all came in runners-up at the Brushy Christmas Brawl, while Ella Barrett (girls age 8-and-younger, 83), Dagni Rodriguez (girls age 8-and-younger, 41-45) and Luke Robertson (open age 10-andyounger, 85) all had third-place finishes.

Aiden Robertson (open age 12-andyounger division, 100105 pounds) and Liam Randolph (open age 8-and-younger, 58) came in fourth at Brushy.

In the organization’s own tournament last Saturday, Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling finished 10th in the team standings with 78 points.

Hastin Chitty won two titles in his own tournament as he won the 43-pound championships in the age 6-and-younger division and in the novice age 8-and-younger division, while Jax York won the 37-pound title in the age 6-and-younger division.

Mannon was the champion at 70 pounds in the girls age 10-andyounger division, while coming in second at 70 pounds in the open age 10-and-younger division.

Beau Moore claimed gold at 119 pounds in the open age 15-and-younger division.

Sandy was a multiple placer as he was third at 105 pounds in the novice age 12-and-younger division and fourth at 99105 pounds in the open age 12-and-younger division.

Three other members were multiple placers for the organization as Stetson Andrews was second at 70 pounds in the novice age 8-andyounger division and third at 70 pounds in the novice age 10-andyounger division, Everly York was runner-up at 83 pounds in the novice age 8-and-younger division and third at 83 pounds in the girls age 8-and-younger division and Dawson York was third at 43 pounds in the age 6-and-younger division and fourth at 43 pounds in the novice age 8-and-younger division.

Jettson Constant (open age 8-and-younger division, 83 pounds), Wyatt Chitty (open age 15-and-younger, 92), Laiken Andrews (novice age 12-and-younger, 88-92), Aiden Robertson (novice age 12-andyounger, 105) and Jynna Barrett (girls age 15-andyounger, 200) all had runner-up finishes in their own tournament last Saturday.

In the Rumble on the River, Seth Current (age 15-and-younger division, 170 pounds), Alex Hoog (age 15-andyounger, 195), Royer Hernandez (novice age 8-and-younger, 55), Agustus Smith (novice age 12-and-younger, 67-73) and Ella Barrett (girls age 8-and-younger, 66-75 pounds) all placed third.
