Vian Wolverines see 15 players make All-District 2AII-4 Football Team
By David Seeley Sports Editor

For the second straight high school football season, the Vian Wolverines went through District 2AII-4 play undefeated en route to playing for the Class 2A, Division II state title for the second straight season.

While the Wolverines, who ended the season at 12-2, finished state runners-up for the second straight season, they were highly represented on the 2025 All-District 2AII-4 Football Team, landing 15 players.

Of those 15 players, 10 of them garnered top individual awards.

Senior Masyn Wright was named the district’s Most Valuable Player.

Four more Wolverines received offensive district specialized awards as senior Cash Trammel was named the Quarterback of the Year, senior Ledger Folsom — who came to Vian this season from Eufaula — won the Wide Receiver of the Year Award, senior Draighton Fletcher was named the Running Back of the Year and senior Max Ross won the Offensive Tackle of the Year Award.

Five Vian players got specialized awards on defense.

Senior Riley Ellis was named the district’s Defensive Player of the Year, senior Tyson “Boomer” Murphy the Defensive End of the Year, senior Garritt Hunt the Defensive Tackle of the Year, senior Trace Sanders the Outside Linebacker of the Year and junior Adoff Stahl the Safety of the Year.

Four other Wolver-ines were named to the first team all-district — freshman linebacker Carter Madsen, senior cornerback Michael Polecat, sophomore offensive guard Manny Terrill and freshman defensive end Amos Wright.

Center Zayden Cheater was named honorable mention alldistrict.

The Wolverines ran the table once again in District 2AII-4 as they went 7-0, which was part of an 11-game winning streak that was snapped in their 3429 state championship game loss to Adair on Dec. 12 at Chad Richison Stadium on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

Editor’s Note: The Vian Tenkiller News has not obtained the information about the All-District AII-3 Football Team that includes the Central Tigers and the Gore Pirates. Once that information has been obtained, the story will publish in a later edition.
