Several Central Tigers and Gore Pirates football players were honored by District AII-3 last month.
The Tigers saw three players earn specialized awards as Ryker Miller was named the Running Back of the Year, Gavin Randolph the Wide Receiver of the Year and Braxton Prewett the Defensive Lineman of the Year.
The Pirates also had three players earn Player of the Year Awards as Zach Comer was named the Linebacker of the Year, Marcus Scott the Offensive Linemen of the Year and Nick Eklund the Special Teams Player of the Year.
The Tigers saw six more players named to the first-team all-district — quarterback Kiefer Bailey, defensive back Aiden Cawhorn, linebackers Leland Kelsey and Ethan Perez and defensive linemen Mekko Ariza and Mason Blalock.
The Pirates had seven players named as firstteamers all-district — running back/linebacker Bladin McCartney, running back/defensive lineman Kaydin McCartney, lineman Antonio Parker, tight end/defensive end Treydan Daugherty, lineman Maden Smith and wide receivers/defensive backs Trenton Cunningham and Weston Cunningham.
Two Gore Pirates, wide receiver/defensive back McKennon McElhaney and tight end/ defensive Brayden Ellis, were named to the second team all-district.
The Tigers were 6-4 last season and 3-4 in District AII-3 play, while the Pirates went 3-7 in the 2025 season and 2-5 in district play.
