Cherokee Nation launches app to help citizens manage prescriptions on the go

Cherokee Nation has launched a new mobile app and website, Cherokee Nation Rx, which enables Cherokee citizens to manage their prescriptions anytime, anywhere.

The innovative platform, powered by mscripts technology, provides convenient access to prescription refills, medication reminders, and pharmacy notifications through text messaging and mobile applications.

The Cherokee Nation Rx app offers citizens a comprehensive suite of features to improve medication adherence and health care management, including:

• An up-to-date list of prescriptions accessible from mobile devices

• Text notifications when prescriptions are due to be refilled

• Medication reminders to help ensure doses are never missed

• Text notifications when prescriptions are ready for pickup

• Text notifications when prescriptions are shipped

• The ability to manage prescriptions for family members “Cherokee Nation is committed to using technology to improve health care access and outcomes for our citizens,” said Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. “The Cherokee Nation Rx app puts pharmacy services right in our citizens’ pockets, making it easier than ever to manage medications and stay healthy. This is another example of how we’re modernizing our health care delivery while maintaining our commitment to excellence.”

The mobile pharmacy solution integrates seamlessly with Cherokee Nation Health Services’ existing pharmacy platform, allowing citizens to interact with their pharmacies through twoway SMS messaging and mobile applications. Citizens with active prescriptions may sign up by downloading the app and registering or by visiting the pharmacy website at health.cherokee. org.

“Innovation in health care delivery is essential to meeting the evolving needs of our patients,” said Dr. R. Stephen Jones, Executive Director and CEO of Cherokee Nation Health Services. “The Cherokee Nation Rx app represents a significant step forward in patient engagement and medication adherence. By providing our citizens with mobile access to their prescription information and pharmacy services, we’re removing barriers to care and empowering patients to take control of their health management.”

Registration is simple: Citizens submit their prescription information, name, date of birth, mobile phone number, and email address through a webbased form or app. The prescription number is the series of numbers following the dash on the prescription bottle; for example, if the bottle reads 06-123456, enter 123456 (not 06123456). Once registered, users can immediately begin managing their prescriptions through the app or by text message.

The Cherokee Nation Rx app is available for download on both iOS and Android devices. Citizens can also access the service through the web portal at health. cherokee.org.

For more information about registering for the Cherokee Nation Rx app, citizens should contact their local Cherokee Nation pharmacy or visit the Cherokee Nation Health Services website.
