The Muskogee County Sheriff ’s Office continues its search for Erik Throne, 56, who has been missing since mid-December following a motor vehicle accident in the Webbers Falls area.
On Jan. 13, the sheriff ’s office announced it was conducting a coordinated search operation near South 105th East Avenue and East 193rd Street South, east of Webbers Falls.
Assisting agencies include the Cherokee Nation Mar- shal Service, City of Muskogee Emergency Management, Muskogee County Emergency Management and Muskogee County EMS.
Authorities advised residents in the area to expect a large law enforcement and emergency presence and said search teams may check private property as part of the effort.
Throne was last seen Dec. 14, 2025, around 3 p.m., after being involved in a vehicle accident near Ross Road.
Witnesses reported seeing a man matching Throne’s description walking eastbound away from the crash scene. He has not been seen or heard from since that day.
According to the Muskogee County Sheriff ’s Office, a missing person report was initially filed with the Muskogee Police Department on Dec. 29, and the sheriff ’s office assumed the investigation on Dec. 31.
Witnesses at the scene said Throne appeared injured but declined assistance.
One witness reported stopping to check on him and noted that, based on the condition of the vehicle, Throne may have suffered a significant head injury, possibly a concussion.
The witness said Throne refused help, stating his brother was coming and later disappeared from sight before officers arrived.
The witness added that Throne was last seen near a ditch on the north side of the road and urged that nearby fields be thoroughly searched.
Throne is described as wearing a gray ball cap, blue hoodie and blue jeans at the time he was last seen.
