The Central High School basketball teams ended up only having one night of home games last Friday night at their temporary home of Roland High School’s Ranger Dome against the Warner squads.
The Lady Eagles started the night flying past the Lady Tigers 59-33, then the Eagles held the Tigers at bay for a 77-73 overtime victory.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Eagles broke a 14all tie after a period as they outscored the Lady Tigers 15-12 in the second quarter to take a 2926 halftime lead.
However, it was the third quarter where the Lady Eagles took control as they used a 14-3 period to take a 43-29 lead into the final period.
In defeat, Sara Williams and Cheyenne Busch scored 10 points apiece to lead the Lady Tigers (7-3), followed by Cambree Bair with seven points, Paris Campbell with four points and Gracie Thompson with two points.
In the boys’ contest, the Eagles rallied from a 55-50 third-quarter deficit by outscoring the Tigers 15-10 in the final period to knot the game at 65-all to force overtime.
In the extra session, Warner outscored Central 12-8 to complete the come-from-behind victory.
In defeat, Gavin Randolph led the Tigers (5-4) with 22 points, followed by Josh Brunk with 17 points, Braxin Goodson with 13 points, Noah Buzzard with 12 points, Paitton Merrill with six points and Brycen Chandler-Eisman with three points.
The Central games on Jan. 13 against Cave Springs were canceled and likely won’t be rescheduled.
