Several Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling members placed at last Saturday’s John Cowan Tournament, which took place in Locust Grove.
Isabella Mannon not only was the champion at 67-70 pounds in the girls age 10-andyounger division, but she also was named the age group’s Outstanding Wrestler.
The organization’s other champion was Aiden Robertson, winning the 100-105 pounds title in the open age 12-and-younger division.
Garrett Sandy and Hastin Chitty were each multiple placers.
Garrett Sandy was runner up at 110 pounds in the novice age 12-and-younger division and fourth at 110 pounds in the open age 12-and-younger division.
Hastin Chitty placed second at 43 pounds in the novice age 8-andyounger division, while finishing third at 43 pounds in the age 6-and-younger division.
Stryker Sandy (open age 15-and-younger division, 155 pounds) and Wyatt Chitty (open age 15-and-younger, 92) also were runners-up.
Beau Moore (open age 15-and-younger division, 126-132 pounds) and Luke Robertson (open age 10-andyounger, 85) were third.
Finishing fourth were Dagni Rodriguez (girls age 8-and-younger division, 47-51 pounds), Daxton Robertson (open age 10-andyounger, 67) and Royer Hernandez (open age 8-and-younger, 55).
At the Tulsa World of Wrestling Nationals last weekend, Jaydan Gates, who was representing RAW Wrestling Club, was fourth at 157 pounds in the open age 15-and-younger division.
The Pirates high school wrestling team will participate in the District 3A-6 Duals beginning at noon Thursday at Vinita, along with Vian, Roland, Berryhill, Checotah, Heavener and Wilburton.
