Miller hangs up his helment

After years of service, leadership and countless calls answered, Sequoyah County Rural Fire Protection District 1 Fire Chief Dean Miller is officially hanging up his helmet. The department wishes to thank him for his dedication and hopes that he will enjoy his retirement.

Sequoyah County Rural Fire Protection District 1 is proud to announce their new fire chief, Amber Townsend, who is also the first female to hold the position. The department said they they’re proud, excited and ready to follow her lead.
