A 24-year-old Vian man has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into child sexual abuse material, according to the Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s Office.
The sheriff ’s office is assisting the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force in multiple investigations involving the exploitation of children.
Investigator Rebecca Greer, who is assigned to the OSBI ICAC Task Force, has played a key role in several child sexual predator cases.
Through that work, Ki Thomas, 24, of Vian, was identified as a suspect. Authorities obtained an arrest warrant on Jan. 8, along with a search warrant for Thomas’ residence. Thomas was taken into custody and booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on a complaint of possession of child sexual abuse material.
The investigation remains ongoing as of press time, and additional details have not yet been released.
Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane praised the work of the ICAC Task Force and local investigators, noting the importance of addressing crimes against children.
“We are blessed to have Investigator Greer assigned to the ICAC Task Force,” Lane said.
“In about one year, she has worked numerous cases involving child predators. It is deeply concerning to know how many offenders are operating within our state and our local communities.”
