Arrest warrant issued in Peeping Tom offense
By AMIE CATO-REMER Editor,

A Vian man has been accused of taking non-consensual photographs of a juvenile and is facing a Peeping Tom charge following an investigation by law enforcement.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Keelan Jones, 34, who is accused of violating Oklahoma’s Peeping Tom statute, stemming from incidents reported in November 2025.

On Nov. 2, 2025, Cherokee Marshal Kywin Mooney, who is cross-commissioned with the Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s Office, was dispatched to a residence on East Ruth Ave. in Sallisaw, after receiving a report regarding a possible Peeping Tom incident involving a juvenile.

The reporting party told authorities that about two to three weeks prior, she had questioned the juvenile about a tent located behind a residence in Vian. The juvenile reportedly stated that the tent belonged to Jones, and that he was sleeping there after the juvenile told an adult that they believed they saw a phone camera underneath a bathroom door while the juvenile was inside.

The reporting party stated that although the adult questioned Jones about the allegation, he denied it and claimed he had been intoxicated at the time, and continued to stay around the residence.

A forensic interview of the juvenile was conducted on Nov. 5, at the Sallisaw Child Advocacy Center, where the juvenile reported that the incidents occurred on four sepearate occasions, typically at night.

The minor stated that on one occasion while in a bathroom applying makeup, they felt someone watching them.

The juvenile reported seeing what appeared to be an iPhone camera with three lenses beneath the bathroom door.

During another incident, the juvenile stated they again observed the phone under the door and recognized it as Jones’ phone due to the three-camera configuration.

The juvenile also told interviewers that Jones was required to stay in a tent outside the home and was not allowed inside when she was present after the adult confronted him about the allegations.

According to the affidavit, Jones later submitted to a polygraph examination and law enforcement reviewed video footage of the interview.

While Jones initially denied the allegations, investigators stated that about 45 minutes into the interview, Jones verbally admitted on camera that he had looked under the bathroom door with his phone, two or three times.

Jones also reportedly stated he saw the juvenile’s legs and backside, and believed he saw the juvenile’s buttocks.

Based on the affidavit, authorities determined there was probable cause to seek an arrest warrant charging Jones with Peeping Tom with photographic/electronic equipment.

District Attorney Jack Thorp said the crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years and/or a $500 fine.

Special Judge Matt Orendorff has set Jones’ bond at $5,000 and he is to have no contact with the alleged victim as a condition of his bond.
