Mother Nature was the big winner last week as her winter storm played havoc on Webbers Falls basketball and Gore powerlifting.

The Webbers Falls basketball teams had their Riverside Conference road games at Porum and their home conference games with McCurtain on Friday night snowed out. It’s uncertain if either or both match-ups will be rescheduled.

The McAlester Invitational powerlifting meet, which was slated for last Thursday and Friday for the Gore Pirates, was canceled due to the weather conditions.

The Pirates will try to get their powerlifting season underway at the Okemah Invitational at 9 a.m. this Friday.
