From a small town in Sequoyah County to the heart of the country music business, Dewayne Johnson is quietly building a name for himself as an artist manager and publicist working with emerging talent in Nashville and beyond.
Johnson, who continues to reside in Vian, is the founder of DJAM Artist Management, where he represents developing country artists Matt Tucker and Jennifer Belle. His work centers on long-term career planning, live performance strategy, and artist development rather than overnight success.
In addition to his management work, Johnson serves as Senior Publicist at 615PR, a public relations firm operating out of Oklahoma and Northern California. The company focuses on independent and developing artists, helping them navigate media outreach and industry positioning. More information can be found at www.615pr.com.
While Johnson travels to Nashville as needed for meetings, showcases, and industry events, he remains rooted in Vian — a choice he says keeps him grounded.
“There’s value in coming from a place where hard work still matters,” Johnson said. “You don’t have to live full-time in Nashville to do meaningful work there.”
Industry colleagues describe Johnson as methodical and relationship-driven, preferring steady progress over shortcuts. His growing roster and expanding public relations work have begun drawing quiet attention from music industry professionals.
