Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison are off to a 10-0 start to the 2026 season.
The Bison opened their season at the Lone Star Invite, which took place Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in Mansfield, Texas.
On Day 1, the Bison blanked Minnesota State University-Moorhead 5-0 and got past the University of Texas-Dallas 12-11 in eight innings.
On Day 2, the Bison beat Northwest Missouri State University 8-3 and edged Maryville University 5-4 in eight innings.
To end the five-game, three-day event on Feb. 1, the Bison defeated St. Edwards University 5-3.
In the win over Minnesota State-Moorhead, Wells went 2-for-3 with a double, her first home run of the season and two runs batted in, while she was 4-for-5 with a double, her second homer of the season and of the day, five RBIs and a stolen base against UT-Dallas.
In the victory over Northwest Missouri State, Wells doubled with an RBI, while hitting a single and scored once against Maryville.
In the win over St. Edwards, Wells hit her third round-tripped of the season.
Then, the Bison went to another three-day, five-game event in the Oklahoma Christian University of Science and Arts/University of Central Oklahoma Invitational, which took place last Friday through last Sunday.
On Day 1, the Bison beat Fort Lewis College 7-1 and New Mexico Highlands 9-3, then got two Day 2 victories — 10-2 in six innings over Black Hills State University and 2-1 over No. 25 OCUSA. The Bison ended the weekend event with a 13-8 win over Eastern New Mexico University last Sunday.
In the victory over Fort Lewis, Wells doubled with an RBI and a run scored, while going 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base against New Mexico Highlands.
In the win over Black Hills State, Wells was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored, while she hit her fourth homer of the season and scored twice against OCUSA.
In the victory over Eastern New Mexico, Wells went 2-for-4 with a double, a sacrifice fly, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Wells and the Bison will be in their third weekend event of the season as they will play four games in the Cherokee Nation Division II Festival, which will take place this Thursday and Friday in Tahlequah. The Bison will meet Rogers State University at noon and UCO at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, then meet Washburn University at 11 a.m. and Northeastern State University at 4 p.m. Friday.
