TAHLEQUAH — Former Vian Lady Wolverine softball player Greenlee Wells had a record day for the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison during the team’s Cherokee Nation Division I Festival two-day event, which took place last Thursday and last Friday.
In Friday afternoon’s 12-7 victory over host Northeastern State University, Wells hit three home runs — her sixth, seventh and eighth homers of the season — to go with six runs batted in.
For the two days, the Bison (12-2) went 2-2, getting their other win on Thursday with a 9-3 victory over the University of Central Oklahoma.
OBU’s first two losses of the season came at the hands of Rogers State University, which beat the Bison 4-2 on Thursday, and Washburn University, which got a 2-0 win.
In the win over UCO, Wells doubled with two RBIs and a run scored.
In the loss to Rogers State, Wells hit her fifth homer of the season with two RBIs, while she went 2-for-3 with a double in the loss to Washburn.
Wells and the Bison will return to action with their first home games of the season in a three-game series against Arkansas-Monticello. There will be a 6 p.m. Friday game and a noon doubleheader on Saturday.
