PANAMA — Several local powerlifters placed at last week’s Iron Hog Classic in Panama.
Last Wednesday, three Gore Lady Pirates placed as Maddison Douglass was runner- up at 168 pounds with a total of 615 total pounds lifted, Mikayla Randolph was second at 123 pounds in the junior high 123-pound division with a total of 445 pounds lifted total and Amelia White was fourth at 123 pounds in the high school division with a total of 510 pounds lifted. The Lady Pirates were slated to compete at the Class A Regional Meet on Tuesday in Fairview.
Last Friday saw the high school boys powerlifters compete.
For the Gore Pirates, Marcus Scott was third at 220 pounds with 1,145 pounds total lifted, Luke Wisdom was fourth at 181 pounds with 875 pounds total lifted and Davis Grant was 10th at 157 pounds with a total of 765 pounds lifted.
The Central Tigers had two powerlifters place in the small school division on Friday as Braxton Prewett was fourth at 220 pounds with a total of 1,110 pounds lifted, while Matt Berton was sixth at 275 with 975 total pounds lifted.
The Pirates and the Tigers will be idle until the Class A Regional Meet, which will be at 9 a.m. March 6 in Hartshorne.
