The Gore Pirates went 17-10 last season and got to the Class A-I Regional Tournament.
All but one starter will be back for Gore coach Tyler Lewis, with three of those seniors — infielder/outfielder/ pitcher Tate Brooksher (.373 batting average last season), along with infielders/pitchers James Brasuell (.401) and Gage Dame (.390).
Outfielders/pitchers Dane Gates (.280 hitting average in 2025) and Kylar McGee (.290), outfielder Keeton Rowe (.305) and infielder/outfielder Cruz Ward (.281) are juniors back.
Sophomores back are infielder/pitcher Eli Munson, infielder/ outfielder/pitcher McKennon McElhaney and pitcher/catcher Kason Short (.320 batting average last spring).
Junior outfielder/ pitcher Jesse Reaves and junior infielder/pitcher Wyatt Willard-Smith also will be expected to make contributions this season.
“We are returning eight of our nine starter of last year’s team,” Lewis said. We also add several guys with varsity experience. We have worked hard in the off-season to develop more depth on the mound. This group of guys have sent their eyes on a trip to the state tournament. With our experience, we know the intensity of this goal and the hard work it will take to achieve it.”
