Richard James “Rick” Burgess Jr., 69, died on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026. He was born on Nov. 19, 1955, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Richard Sr. and Fern Burgess.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hopkins Funeral Service Survivors include a son, Richard Burgess III; daughter, Rheva and Wesley Rainbolt; two brothers, DeWayne Sr. and Gloria Burgess and Scott Burgess; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Brenda Smith.
