A 17-year-old Park Hill driver was injured last Monday morning in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 82 and Carters Landing in Cherokee County, according to OHP.
The crash occurred at around 7:29 a.m. on Feb. 23.
According to the preliminary report, the juvenile driver, traveling westbound on Carters Landing, failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the intersection, colliding with a northbound vehicle on Hwy. 82.
The second vehicle was driven by Leketta L. Vest, 55, of Vian. Vest was not injured in the crash.
The teen driver was transported for treatment of injuries. A passenger in the juvenile’s vehicle was not injured. All occupants were reported to be wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The collision remains under investigation. Officials noted that information released at this stage is preliminary and subject to change.
