Nov. 30, 1929 – Feb. 27, 2026

A memorial service for Billy Smith, 96, of Sallisaw, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.

Burial followed at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mr. Smith was born on Nov. 30, 1929, to Minnie (Cragg) Smith and Robert Lee Smith. He passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.

He married Lula Lee (Masterson) Smith on Aug. 21, 1948. She preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 2023.

Mr. Smith was a proud veteran of the United States Army, served as President of Redwood Heights Developers, Inc., and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include two sons, B.T. Smith and Carla of Glenwood, Ark., and Stephen J. Smith and Nancy of Sallisaw; four grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Wanda Smith; and other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lelis and R.L.; and five sisters, Vannie, Sylvia, Glyndean, Marie and Nina.
