Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers sweep Labette

WILBURTON — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers swept a home doubleheader from Labette Community College by scores of 12-0 in five innings and 6-3 last Sunday afternoon.

In the opener, Wells singled, had a run batted in and scored once, while getting a single with a run scored in the nightcap.

The Lady Mountaineers (13-5), who had their road twinbill against Murray State College on March 3 at Tishomingo rained out, will be busy this week leading up to Spring Break.

Eastern were slated to travel to meet former Muldrow Lady Bulldog Danica Tune and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on Tuesday before being in a road doubleheader against Coffeyville Community College at 1 p.m. Thursday. Then, the Lady Mountaineers will return home to entertain Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa for a 2 p.m. twinbill on Saturday.
