Vian Public Schools was represented by some awesome young people during the 61st annual Sequoyah County Jr. Livestock Show, with eight students making the premium auction, and 10 students receiving a check from the Vian Livestock Booster Club. Senior Tressa Sandlin was awarded a $500 scholarship, Alivia Guthrie earned a new buckle for the grand champion market hog, and Drake Guthrie earned a buckle for the reserve grand market hog. Alivia and Drake, along with Lillian Fahrman and Ryan Garrison, were all awarded buckles winning shownship in their respective divisions. “We are so proud of all of these students for their hard work and a few who stepped out of their comfort zone to show for the first time,” Vian FFA advisors Trent and Charlotte Trotter said. “Thank you to everyone who has supported these students in one way or another this season.” Vian FFA and 4-H students making the sale included Alivia Guthrie, Drake Guthrie, Creed Clouse, Ryan Garrison, Rory Garrison, Cooper Risley, Tressa Sandlin and Spencer Dick.
