Former Vian softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison went 3-2 during Spring Break week.
The Bison split last Wednesday’s road doubleheader against Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas, as they took the opener 10-6 before losing 20-4 in five innings in the nightcap.
Last Friday and Saturday in Arkadelphia, Ark., the Bison won their three-game series with host Ouachita Baptist University as they won Friday’s opener 4-2 before losing the nightcap 5-4. OBU won the rubber game 8-2 on Saturday.
In the opener against TWU, Wells singled and had a stolen base, while she went hitless in two at-bats in the nightcap.
In Friday’s Game 1 against Ouachita Baptist, Wells went 2-for-4 with her 16th home run of the season, while not getting a hit in three trips to the plate in the nightcap.
In the series finale against Ouachita Baptist, Wells hit her 17th homer of the spring with two runs batted in.
The 14th-ranked Bison (28-5 overall, 14-1 in Great American Conference play) will return to action in a home three-game weekend series against Southeastern Oklahoma State University at Bison Softball Park. There will be a 6 p.m. Friday game and a noon Saturday doubleheader.
