A Celebration of Life Service for Wanda Marie Smith, 89, of Vian, was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Cornerstone Tabernacle in Gore.
Burial followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Smith was born on May 25, 1936, in Carlile, to Walter Otis Daily and Jessie (Morris) Daily. She passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026.
She attended school at Carlile and later attended LPN school at Fort Smith School of Practical Nursing, graduating in 1968. She worked at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in the emergency department before going to work at Vian Nursing Home until retiring in 2010.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, trip and get-togethers, and caring for her dog Tuffy.
Survivors are three children, Daryl “Butch” Smith and Sheila of Vian, James “Jim” Smith and Shannon of Tulsa, and Diana (Smith) Montgomery of Gore; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna J. Ballard of Durant and Margaret Baude of Wagoner; brother-in-law, E.O. Smith and Janie of Vian; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Smith; grandson, Damon V. Smith; three sisters, Tommy Kidd, Bonnie Moore and Shirley Stamm; and one brother, Carl Daily.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Caleb, Daryl, Bradford, Layne, Landon and Reid.
Honorary pallbearers were E.O. Smith, Chad Sutton, John Montgomery and Keith Stewart.
