A Webbers Falls man was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash late Saturday night in rural Muskogee County, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
The collision occurred at around 10:14 p.m. at the intersection of County Road South 85th Street East and County Road East 148th Street South.
According to the preliminary report, Joseph Johnson, 24, was traveling southbound on 85th Street East on a motorcycle when, for unknown reasons, he departed the roadway to the left.
The motorcycle then struck an embankment, causing both the vehicle and rider to become airborne.
Authorities said Johnson was ejected and struck a tree, where he came to rest. He was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Colton Croft #309 of Troop C, with the OHP’s Northeast Region Communications Center assisting.
Officials noted that all information is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues.
