Webbers Falls School Board sets bond sale in February meeting
By AMIE CATO-REMER Editor,

The Webbers Falls Board of Education approved steps toward a $255,000 building bond sale and made several administrative decisions during its regular meeting held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 9.

The board members unanimously approved the meeting agenda after removing an item related to OSSBA Policy DGC (Teaching Techniques), which officials said was unnecessary.

No members of the public addressed the board, though Student of the Month Kaselee Riley was recognized.

Consent agenda items, including minutes from the Jan. 12 meeting, financial reports and encumbrances for the 2026 fiscal year, were approved without opposition.

In bond-related action, the board voted to authorize an acting clerk, Vice President Micah Cato, in the absence of the clerk to execute documents related to the upcoming bond sale.

Members then approved a resolution setting March 9, at 7 p.m. as the date and time for the sale of $255,000 in building bonds, to be held at the Board of Education room.

Bond counsel was also designated for the issuance.

The board also approved a contract with OKTLE/DEES, updating the designation to SEES, for personnel evaluations for the school year.

Additionally, members adopted an updated Special Education Child Find Policy.

Following reports from Principal Sanders and Superintendent Michael Mills, the board approved revisions to the school calendar.

The changes designate Jan. 23, 26 and 27 as virtual learning days, while Jan. 28 and 29 will be counted as snow days.

In other business, the board modified district credit card limits, setting Jennifer Hedge’s limit at $4,000 and reducing Daniel Schmidt’s limit from $4,000 to $1,000.

With no new business to consider, the meeting adjourned at 8:03 p.m.

This news story is based on the unofficial minutes from the board meeting and could be in error if the minutes are changed prior to adoption.
