The Gore Board of Education approved several personnel hires and accepted the district’s annual audit report during its regular meeting held at 6 p.m. on March 9.
The board members began the meeting by unanimously approving General Fund purchase orders numbered 282 through 299.
Members also heard a presentation from district auditors, Bledsoe, Hewett and Gullekson, regarding the 2024–25 audit report.
Following the presentation, the board voted to accept the audit report, along with the engagement letter and audit contract.
Administrative reports were delivered by Superintendent Nick Humphries, as well as principals Amanda Andrews and Tonya Pugh.
No action was reportedly taken regarding submitted resignations or on discussion items related to the lower elementary bond project.
The board entered executive session at 6:46 p.m. to discuss staffing needs for the remainder of the spring semester and the upcoming 2026–27 school year.
Members returned to open session at 7:51 p.m., taking a series of unanimous votes on personnel recommendations.
Andrews was approved as Gore Upper Elementary/ High School principal for the 2026–27 school year, while Pugh was named Gore Lower Elementary principal for the same term.
Additional hires approved for the 2026–27 school year included Teresa Craighead for the busi- ness office, Jill Thornton as Child Nutrition director and activity fund/inhouse treasurer, Curtis Yargee for district maintenance, and custodians Rick Shry and Amber Shipley.
For the remainder of the current spring semester, the board approved hiring Ginger Pack and Kyla Martin as cooks and Nathan McCurley as a high school/upper elementary teacher.
The board also approved consent agenda items before adjourning the meeting at 7:57 p.m.
