Drew Williams, left, an incoming second-year medical student at OSU-COM at Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, recently completed his OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine 2-week Rural Externship with Dr. Patrick Sullivan, right, at Triton Health in Vian. “During my time at Triton Health, I was able to shadow Dr. Sullivan and learn about the health issues facing rural Oklahomans. This consisted of learning about common conditions such as Diabetes, COPD, Heart Disease, and more. I was able to put into practice the things I learned in my first year of medical school and get a sense of what it is like to practice medicine in rural Oklahoma,” Williams said. SUBMITTED
