The Oklahoma Tax Commission recently released city sales tax collection figures that primarily represents local tax receipts from August business. The monies they reported this period represent sales from July 16 to 31 and estimated sales from Aug. 1 to 15.
Statewide, the disbursement of $200, 587,224 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $1,205,740 from the $199,381,484 distributed to the cities and towns in August last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and town was $34,497,089 according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $33,983,319 sales tax disbursement and a $6,503,886 use tax disbursement.
