Our Blood Institute needs you to come out of hibernation and help save lives through the end of winter! Give blood at an Our Blood Institute donor center or mobile drive to receive a glow-in-the-dark “When I’m Not Hibernating, I’m Donating Blood” T-shirt.
The winter is historically a challenging time for blood donations as many people are staying indoors due to the weather, causing a negative impact on the blood supply. OBI needs 1,200 donors a day to maintain an adequate blood supply.
Individuals aged sixteen and up are urged to give blood at one of these locations:
• Vian Community; Friday, Feb. 23, 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the bloodmobile parked at Harp’s Foods Store.
• Webbers Falls Community; Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1 to 6 p.m. at the Webbers Falls Municipal Complex.
Anyone who is healthy and 16 years old* or older can give blood. Donation typically takes only about an hour, and one donation saves up to three lives. Appointments to donate can bemadeonlineatobi.orgor by calling 877-340-8777. Walk-ins are also welcome.
