Indian Capital Technology Center (ICTC) will offer a four-week long Fiber Optic Technician training beginning April 22. The class is in partnership with OSUIT. The class will meet Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. through May 16.
Students will be introduced to the fiber optics industry and learn basic theory to support hands-on training with fusion splicers, troubleshooting and diagnostic equipment, and various modes of fiber optic cable used in industry, as well as outside plant and fiber to the home training in underground and aerial environments.
Hands-on training will cover fiber identification, industry specific tools and equipment, fusion splicing techniques, fiber closures and traying, troubleshooting basics and emergency restoration techniques.
