Members of the Oklahoma State University Extension’s Oklahoma Home & Community Education group are observing OHCE Week May 5-11.
As part of the observance, the Sequoyah County Akins OHCE group will conduct its regular meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, at the Sequoyah County Fair Barn. Lunch will be followed by quilt block-making demonstrations.
Anyone interested in joining the group is invited to attend Thursday’s meeting. Pre-registration is suggested by contacting Donna Jamison (918-775-5697), Beverly Covington (918-774-2215), Mildred Taylor (918-571-8025) or the OSU Extension office (918-775-4838).
OSU Extension was established in 1935, and is marking its service to Oklahoma during OHCE Week.
Jamison, who serves as president of Akins OHCE, met Monday with Sequoyah County Commissioners at their weekly meeting, where they signed a proclamation declaring May 5-11 as OHCE Week in Sequoyah County.
