Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane and three of his deputies visited with Senator Markwayne Mullin last week at the state capital during National Police Week. The week is set aside each year to honor and remember the sacrifices made by law enforcement across the country. “It’s really something just to see all the families of the fallen officers here,” Lane said, making his second trip to the event. “It’s a neat event that pulls at your heart strings, and I wanted some of my deputies to experience it as well.” Four fallen Oklahoma officers’ who gave their lives in the line of duty in 2023, were added to this year’s Fallen Officer Memorial.
