The Gore School Board convened for its regular monthly meeting on June 18 to address various agenda items crucial to the upcoming academic year.
The board approved several key agenda items essential for the operational readiness of Gore Schools for the 2024-25 school year. This included the approval of Professional Development and committee assignments (DMB-R), Attendance policies (FDC-R1), and Medical Exemptions (FDCP), with unanimous support from all board members.
A notable highlight of the meeting was Mrs. Ridinger’s address to the board regarding Professional Development stipends, emphasizing ongoing efforts to enhance faculty training and support.
In preparation for the upcoming academic term, the board also authorized the employment of several staff members:
• Rhonda Harper as a certified temporary teacher for Band/Music
• Jana Morris as a lower elementary school temporary certified teacher
• Amber Shipley as the lower elementary campus custodian
• Leslie Staley as a high school temporary certified math teacher
Further decisions included approving a quote from the Oklahoma Schools Insurance Group (OSIG) for district liability and casualty insurance for the 2024-25 period, totaling $171,570. This measure was unanimously supported by the board of education.
Adjunct classes for the upcoming school year were also given the green light, with board approval granted to Julie Kinion for Anatomy/Physiology and Dana Crumpler for English I and II/ Yearbook, ensuring students have access to diverse educational opshowed portunities.
Tonya Pugh and Amanda Andrews presented the Principal’s Report, highlighting achievements and upcoming initiatives within the school. Superintendent Lucky McCrary delivered the Superintendent’s report, providing updates on administrative matters and future planning.
Matt Hawkins’ resignation was also accepted by the board.
