The Vian Agricultural Communications class joined up with Mrs. Bethel’s kindergarten class to participate in “Read an Accurate Ag Book Week.”
This is an initiative to promote Ag literacy during the week of Sept. 3-5.
“Last year, 22,000 students listened to accurate Ag books during the week and this year we are hoping that all 77 counties can hear about agriculture,” said Melody Blossor, Ag in the Classroom Coordinator.
Vian FFA students read books to help educate the younger students about the importance of accurate information of where our food comes from.
The Ag communications class hopes to bridge the gap between those who don’t understand the importance of Ag and where our food, fuels and fiber come from.
Five bushels of books will be given away to chapters across the state that participate in this event.
The students said they hope to win a bushel of books for these bright students in Mrs. Bethel’s class!
