Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers split their home games with Rose State College on April 28 in Wilburton, winning the opener 9-7 but losing the nightcap 3-2.
The Lady Mountaineers lost both games of their regular-season finales, falling twice to Seminole State by scores of 9-0 in five innings and 3-0 on Thursday afternoon in Haskell, having to move the home doubleheader from Wilburton due to wet
fields.
In the opener against Rose State, Wells was 3-for 4 with her eighth double, two runs batted in and a run scored, while going 2-for-4 in the nightcap for the Lady Mountaineers (31-19).
In Game 1 against Seminole State, Wells was 1-for-3, while going hitless in three at-bats in Game 2.
Through 50 games this season, Wells is batting .453 with eight doubles, three triples, six home runs, 20 runs batted in, 46 runs scored and 11 stolen bases.
