The National Weather Service confirmed that at least three EF1 tornadoes struck Sequoyah County on June 6, with one beginning at Vian, another near Sallisaw and a third went north of Roland into Liberty, moving into Arkansas. The high winds caused several trees to topple over or break, including this one that landed on the home of Sharon Murphy, just outside Vian on Highway 64. Damage was also reported to the Roselawn Cemetery, south of Vian, and more than 3,500 OG&E customers on the west end of the county were without electric until it was restored later that afternoon.
