For the second straight time this season, the Vian Lady Wolverines softball team fell victim to the Gore Lady Pirates by a score of 13-0 in a fourinning, run-rule game on Aug. 26 in Gore in a game that got moved from Vian’s Armstrong Park to Gore due to wet fields at Armstrong Park.
In two other games last week, Mother Nature got the Lady Wolverines as their road game at Hartshorne on Aug. 25 was rained out as well as Thursday’s games in the Westville Festival.
No make-up dates for these games have been set as of press time.
In the loss to Gore, the Lady Pirates, who led 1-0 after an inning, put away the game with an eightrun second inning. A four-run fifth inning put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Jordyn Cowett was 2-for-2 for the Lady Wolverines (57).
Cassidy Postoak (5-6) took the loss, despite fanning three batters in three innings. Tressa Sandlin went the final two innings.
