Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative (CHEC) is proud to announce the launch of the 2026 Oklahoma Youth Tour competition, offering local high school juniors the chance to earn scholarships and an unforgettable trip to Washington, D.C.
For decades, CHEC has sponsored area students on this weeklong, all-expenses-paid trip to the nation’s capital. Delegates join more than 1,500 students from across the country to explore historic monuments, meet congressional representatives, and gain a firsthand look at how our government works.
“This program is one of our favorite ways to invest in future leaders,” said Brad Martin, Director of Member/ Public Relations at CHEC. “It’s incredible to see students come back inspired and ready to make a difference in their schools and communities.”
Students interested in participating can find the competition guidelines, entry form, and submission instructions on CHEC’s website at www.cooksonhills.com/ youth-tour.
In addition to the Youth Tour contest, CHEC is also offering Bonus Competitions for both teachers and students, featuring cash prizes as a fun way to encourage participation.
CHEC representatives are available to visit local schools to share more about the Youth Tour experience with 11th graders.
