Funeral services for Joe Ward, 68, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at the Agent Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.

Burial was at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory- Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Ward was born on Sept. 8, 1957, to Billy Gene Ward and Gladys Loretta (Lacey) Ward. He died on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, in Springfield, Mo.

He worked as a carpenter, contributing his skills and craftsmanship to many projects.

Survivors include four sons, Christopher Joseph of Sallisaw, Noah Ward of Muldrow, Michael Ward of Springfield and Riley Ward of Conroe, Texas; three daughters, Carolyn Riggs of Fort Smith, Ark., and Kiona Ward and Becca Ward, both of Springfield; two brothers, Bob Ward of Vian and Terry Ward of Sallisaw; two sisters, Lynda Ward and Loretta Bean, both of Marble City; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Billie Kramer; and one brother, Tim Ward.

Pallbearers were Christopher Ward, Noah Ward, Michael Ward, Riley Ward, Hayden Ward and Landon Ward.
