The Webbers Falls Lady Warriors not only won their season opener of the 2026 slow-pitch softball season but got new coach Staci Simeroth her first win as they edged the Arkoma Mustangs 5-4 on March 2 at Eual Carter Sports Complex.
However, the opening week ended on a down note as the Lady Warriors lost a pair of home games on March 3, losing 10-2 to Vian and 11-2 to Wetumka.
Last Thursday’s home game against Porum was rained out.
In the win over Arkoma, down 4-3 after six innings with their final turns at the plate coming up, the Lady Warriors (1-2) scored twice in the seventh inning on back-to-back RBI singles by Bailey Ward and Ricki Frazier to get the come-from-behind win.
For the game, Katie Frazier was 3-for-4 with a double, a run batted in and a run scored, Karla Bonilla was 2-for-4, Ward was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Shkyra Scruggs was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, Allie Patterson was 2-for-3 and Sofia Bonilla was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
Ward (1-0) got the win as she recorded five strikeouts.
In the loss to Vian, the Lady Wolverines rallied from a 1-0 firstinning deficit by scoring twice in the second inning and three runs in the third inning to take the lead for good at 5-1 after three innings.
In defeat, Rhilee Jones was 3-for-3 with a double, Karla Bonilla was 3-for-3 and Katie Frazier tripled and scored twice for the Lady Warriors. Ward (1-1) took the loss.
In the loss to Wetumka, the Lady Outlaws scored twice in the first inning and five runs in the second inning for a 7-0 lead. The Lady Warriors scored twice in the third inning to cut their deficit to 7-2 after three innings, but they got no closer.
In defeat, Jones was 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Lextyn Chappell doubled and scored once for Webbers Falls. Chappell (0-1) suffered the loss.
