The Webbers Falls Warriors entered Spring Break by going 2-1 last week on the baseball diamond.
The Warriors got two home shutouts on March 9 as they shutout the Wilson (Henryetta) Tigers 9-0 in four innings and the Braggs Wildcats 8-0 in four innings.
Both wins came compliments of a pair of no-hitters as Gunner Shelby (2-0) struck out 10 batters in his no-hitter against Wilson, then Brutus Robinson (10) fanned nine Braggs batters in his no-hitter against the ’Cats.
In the win over Wilson, the Warriors scored three runs in the first inning, four runs in the second inning and twice in the third inning to put the game into runrule status.
For the contest, Shelby was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a run batted in for Webbers Falls.
In the victory over Braggs, the Warriors scored twice in the first inning, then scored single runs in the second and third innings for a 4-0 lead. A four-run fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.
For the contest, Shelby singled with two runs scored and an RBI, while Robinson singled with two runs scored for Webbers Falls.
The week ended on a down note as the Warriors suffered an 8-0, four-inning road loss to Riverside Conference foe Okay on March 10.
The Mustangs scored five runs in the first inning and single runs in the each of the next three innings to put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Clayton Roberts and Rocky Greenfield each singled for the Warriors (3-3). Trysten Wilbourn (0-2) suffered the loss.
